Whirlpool Generator

Generate whirlpool text from modern English text

Note: This is a demonstration using SHA-512. For production use, implement a proper Whirlpool library.

About Whirlpool Hash

What is Whirlpool?

Whirlpool is a cryptographic hash function designed by Vincent Rijmen and Paulo S. L. M. Barreto. It produces a 512-bit hash value.

Security Features

Whirlpool is considered cryptographically secure and is standardized by ISO/IEC 10118-3:2004. It's resistant to collision attacks.

Use Cases

Digital signatures, password hashing, data integrity verification, and cryptographic applications requiring strong hash functions.

Performance

Whirlpool is slower than SHA-256 but provides a larger hash size. It's suitable for applications where security is prioritized over speed.

Implementation Note

Important: This demo uses SHA-512 as a substitute since Whirlpool is not natively supported in web browsers. For production applications requiring actual Whirlpool hashing, you would need to:

  • Use a dedicated Whirlpool JavaScript library
  • Implement server-side Whirlpool hashing
  • Use WebAssembly (WASM) implementations
  • Consider alternative hash functions like SHA-3 or BLAKE2
